The Miyawaki technique is one of the most effective tree planting methods for creating forest cover quickly on degraded land that has been used for other purpose such as agriculture or construction.

It is an afforestation technique for cultivated fast growing groves of native plants ,with the dense , mixed planting intended to stimulate the layers of a natural forest.
